On November 27, 2024, the first joint alumni networking event of the real estate programs at bbw Hochschule and HTW Hochschule für technik und Wirtschaft Berlin took place at Potsdamer Platz. The event was organized by Prof. Dr. Dietmar Lucht from bbw Hochschule and Prof. Dr. Anne Sanftenberg from HTW Berlin.

The participants, including over 100 alumni, enjoyed an inspiring evening with engaging conversations and a breathtaking view of the Philharmonie. The event took place at "Das Center," a building that is set to undergo extensive renovations in the coming months - an interesting context that one participant aptly described as a "demolition party."

The keynote speaker of the evening was Titus Albrecht from Moody's, who provided entertaining insights into his early career years. His encouragement to students to not be afraid of entrepreneurship particularly impressed the audience. According to him, there is "never the right moment" to take the step into self-employment - a realization he humorously compared to the topic of "having children."

In addition to the networking among participants, there was also a look into the future of "Das Center." Valérie Bensiek from Oxford Properties Group presented the planned renovation measures and the repositioning of the center, placing them in the historical context of Potsdamer Platz.

The networking event was a great success and will certainly serve as a starting point for future collaborations and the expansion of the alumni network. Prof. Dr. Dietmar Lucht and Prof. Dr. Anne Sanftenberg are already planning similar events in the future to further foster exchange.
