Bachelor
(Bachelor of Arts)

The tourism and events industry is one of the fastest growing sectors in Germany and worldwide. Travel and tourism have naturally close links to areas like trade fairs, sports and event management as well as the hotel and restaurant trade or transportation.

The career opportunities for our graduates are correspondingly multi-faceted. The growing market also increases the demand for tourism graduates as well as for event managers and middle management. Our study course with the internationally recognised academic degree of Bachelor of Arts opens the door to these opportunities.

The bbw University of Applied Sciences is a member of the German Travel Association and consequently has close contacts to companies in the tourism and event sector. The curriculum is based on the experiences and requirement profile of such active companies.

Prospects following studies

The two integrated knowledge fields of this economics study course with its Tourism and Event Management specialisation offer not only worldwide opportunities, but also virtually double career entry and advancement chances. Graduates are not only sound business administrators but also specialists in the management of two global growth sectors.

The course creates first-rate preconditions for subsequent work in especially the management of travel agents and tour organisers like TUI or Thomas Cook. It is an equally good basis for activities in tourist associations and organisations or events agencies, in hotels, at airports and aboard cruise liners - everywhere that leisure activities, travels and events must be planned, organised, settled and controlled.

Further career perspectives are offered by companies and leisure facilities with departments for Marketing, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Public Relations and publicity work. Also conceivable are activities in Quality Management, ranging up to Research and Development or Controlling - not only, but especially in the context of tourism.
