(Bachelor of Arts)

The tourism industry is one of the most important economic sectors worldwide as well as in Germany. The number of travellers is rising steadily and was 1.4 billion worldwide in 2018, according to UNWTO (World Tourism Organization). Germany is benefiting strongly from this global growth trend. In 2018 a turnover of 287 billion euros provided almost three million jobs (6.8% of all jobs) in the German tourism industry.

The tourism market combines international and intercultural aspects and is closely linked to areas such as event management, the hotel and restaurant industry, trade fair and event management, sports, wellness and health management. That means that the opportunities for you are correspondingly multi-faceted. With the size of the market, the breadth of the range on offer and the acute shortage of skilled workers in the industry, the demand for qualified tourism specialists for middle and upper management is growing.

The degree programme Business Sciences with the specialisation Tourism Management is based on detailed observations and experiences of the tourism market. Thus the studies offers you a special practical orientation, the latest trends as well as aspects of digitisation in this economic sector. As a member of the German Travel Association, the bbw University of Applied Sciences has close contacts to the business world and offers you a strong corporate network.
