Due to the practice-oriented teaching at bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences as well as the professors' and lecturers' own founding experiences, the students are taught entrepreneurial qualities such as personal responsibility, willingness to take risks and independent action as basic requirements for the success of start-ups.

In addition, the PUSH Startup Center of bbw University of Applied Sciences was founded in 2020 to provide the best possible support for students who are interested in founding a company.

The PUSH Startup Center of bbw University of Applied Sciences

The Startup Center of bbw University of Applied Sciences enables you to inform yourself about the important topics regarding your own startup idea and to be coached individually for example, about the requirements and possibilities of funding, financing, investor searching, market entry, responsibility, risk and team.

In addition, we also offer you information events, targeted matchmaking as well as startup pitch events. Guest speakers such as alumni of the university, lecturers and professors as well as external people report on their start-up experience and explain industry-specific examples.

Furthermore, you can benefit from the experience of various mentors and use it for your own startup project. Through professional and needs-based consulting we support you from the very beginning of your founding idea to the preparation of business plans or the clarification of financing issues.

Services of the PUSH Startup Center

The team of the PUSH Startup Center includes Christian Grosser, Mirco Dragowski and Juan Ocampo.

Mirco Dragowski manages the startup center together with Mr. Grosser. Christian Grosser is focused on operations within the PUSH project, while Mr. Dragowski is responsible for communication and networking. Juan Ocampo supports the students with their start-up ideas through different methods such as agile work, business model canvas or, for example, customer journey mapping. In cooperation with the marketing department and bbw University of Applied Sciences, they work on the awareness of the startup center, produce content for various channels, are planning events and provide media support for the founders.

Successful startup ideas

Many founders already think about starting their own business during their studies. In academic papers, which are part of the study programme, students discuss USPs, market conquest strategies and customer needs. Those students, who have bussiness ideas, are given the opportunity to optimize these ideas during their studies and are encouraged to start their own business after their successful graduation at the latest. When it comes to the first steps of founding a startup, founders are dependent on appropriate support and thankful for the expertise of different groups of people. The PUSH Startup Center is pleased to present great startup ideas and the founders behind them - our graduates of bbw University of Applied Sciences.

Jonathan Kohl founded the company Seniovo GmbH . He is the owner of the company which is specialized in barrierfree renovation projects. In the beginning of the foundation he has employed three former fellow students and is looking for further employees..
Marius Thielmann and Jacopo Borrini founded Stuck Magazine , a print publication whose goal is to inspire readers to explore subcultures and various artists.
Haleh Esbak and her business partner, Josephin Roeder founded mycuraya, a digital marketplace for alternative and complementary medicine treatments, which also serves as a science-based approach to a holistic lifestyle.
Janis Künkler and Max Große Lutermann founded Reverse.supply with the vision of opening up the second-hand market for fashion brands. The Reverse.supply platform includes both a purchasing portal for second-hand clothing from the respective manufacturer and an AI-driven grading system for quality control and price determination.
Salim Kraatz has founded not once, but three times. Together with his co-founder Grigorii Posner, he founded Clang Music , a music-based marketing consultancy that advises clients on how to integrate music into campaigns and the marketing mix to improve performance. He also founded the non-profit organisation FDJM , which provides vocational training to young women from Mali in various fields such as agriculture, organic cosmetics production and crafts. His third startup Spotshot is a social network and focuses on initiating, promoting and disseminating social media challenges to emphasise the community spirit in social media consumption.
Felix Kreul has founded a social business single-handedly and pursues the desire to make the world a little better. Forgotten Faces is a label that supports a social project with every collection and offers financial support.
Lisa Petrauschke is the founder of Pegmata Ads UG (haftungsbeschränkt), a marketplace for scaffolding and firewall advertising where she brings together property owners and advertising agencies. In this way short-term "unused" spaces are used as advertising space, but long-term advertising on fire walls can also be arranged via www.baugeruestwerbung.de .
Benjamin Nudelmann is an estate agent, founder and author. After completing his Bachelor's Degree at the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences he set up his own business for the first time with Nudelmann & Friends Immobilien GmbH . A year later he founded his second real estate investment company Benny & Jerry's Investments GmbH.
Christoph Schulze graduated from the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences in 2014 with a bachelor's degree in economics, specialising in tourism and event management. But his start-up went in a different direction. True to the motto: "Making is like wanting only crasser", Christoph founded Shirt Waiter in 2018 and produces certified ecological team shirts, pullovers and hoodies.
Anant Kapil (Master ITTM student), Manish Kumar Singh and Ribhu Srivastava are still at the very beginning of their start-up. The three form the founding team of REAM - RenElectro Advanced Mobility. REAM plans to develop the world's most sustainable electric and non-electric bicycles by making all parts from recycled materials.
