Dear members of the university,

in the last few days the world in general and for everyone in particular has changed. We are obliged to deal with the new challenges appropriately in order to protect our students, prospective students and our lecturers and colleagues as much as possible, but at the same time to preserve their opportunity to learn. In doing so, we are working hard to actively shape online teaching for you and to be there for you with our usual service.

The Chancellor of the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences, Heide Traemann, would like to thank the students, professors, lectures and staff for the good cooperation over the last weeks. Despite the new challenges, the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences has managed the first hurdles of the corona crisis with the help of teamwork and great commitment. Colloquium, exams and countless courses have already been held online and the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences is proud to have implemented everything well together. The bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences hopes that the restrictive contact restrictions can soon be eased a little. We will receive further information on a regular basis and will of course inform you about new arrangements. We are already looking forward to welcoming you again in person at our university. Until then, stay safe!

Study and teaching

The bbw Hochschule - Universiry of Applied Sciences naturally follows the health and safety recommendations of the experts and the specifications of the responsible authorities. For this reason, we are currently unable to provide face-to-face education. From now on, all courses will be offered and conducted online via WebEx or Moodle.

This regulation applies until further notice. We will ensure that all students and those starting their studies can continue or begin their studies without any loss of time. For all students, whether freshmen or returnees, the summer semester 2020 will start on April 1, 2020.

Opening and office hours of the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Science

Unfortunately, access to bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences, with the exception of our library, is currently not possible for students and prospective students, as we have to temporarily lock our doors as a preventive measure.

From 11th May 2020, the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences will reopen its library service, making you possible to borrow and return books. Unfortunately, presence stay on site cannot yet be offered. It is therefore not possible to use the reading room. To ensure the necessary hygiene measures, we have temporary rules. Therefore we kindly request you to consider the following guidelines:

  • Opening hours: Monday to Thursday, 10:00 am - 14:00 pm
  • Limited entrance max. upto 3 persons in the reception zone
  • Limited entrance max. upto 2 persons in the library zone
  • Minimum distance of 1,5 m
  • Wearing a mask or covering mouth and nose

We urge you to remember to return books that you have borrowed before the closing (shut down). If you are not able to return your borrowed books within 10 days, please notify this immediately to the given Email address below: bibliothek@bbw-hochschule.de

Since 17th March 2020, our employees at bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences have been working in remote home offices. Nevertheless, we are still available to our students, prospective students, lecturers and partners on our channels without restriction. We therefore ask you to clarify your questions and concerns by phone or email.
