Last Monday, the bbw University of Applied Sciences shone with a special brilliance: Once again this year, international students came together to celebrate the traditional Diwali festival. The university's Intercultural Communication Club organized this festive event, which was once more marked by joy, warmth, and vibrant cultural diversity.
Diwali, the "Festival of Lights," is one of the most important Hindu celebrations worldwide. It symbolizes the victory of light over darkness and good over evil - and also marks the beginning of a new year. Millions of people around the globe celebrate this special day as a symbol of community, unity, and love.
The cheerful atmosphere and shared experiences created the perfect conditions for new friendships and intercultural encounters. A feast for the eyes were the colorful Kurtas worn by many students on this occasion, proudly expressing the cultural diversity of our university.
Traditional dishes and sweets invited everyone to taste and enjoy, while Prof. Dr. Thoralf Buller, head of the Intercultural Communication Club, visibly enjoyed the festive atmosphere and the lively sense of togetherness.
The bbw University of Applied Sciences places great importance on promoting and supporting such cultural events. For us, togetherness, mutual exchange, and a living sense of community are especially important. Events like the Diwali celebration not only broaden our students' horizons but also strengthen the cohesion and diversity that characterize and enrich our university.
