Start of the bbw Studienkolleg

2020-04-21

Start of bbw Studienkolleg

In April, the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences launched the first Studienkolleg. On Monday, Rafayel Gevorgian, project manager of the Studienkolleg, welcomed the new students of the Studienkolleg with the currently necessary safety distance: "Studying at bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences is now becoming even more tangible for international applicants. Effective immediately, bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences is offering its own Studienkolleg, which prepares international students in the best possible way for university studies. We warmly welcome, with some distance, our first year of the bbw Studienkolleg".

The five students come from Ghana, Thailand, Indonesia and Nigeria. Since their university entrance qualification is not recognised in Germany, they have to take an assessment test (FSP) in order to be able to study in Germany. The Studienkolleg lasts two semesters and will prepare students for the FSP. The course of study chosen by the students during the application process determines whether a T or W course is taken during the Studienkolleg. All five students take part in the T-course in their Studienkolleg. This means that the focus of teaching is on the technical sciences and that German, mechanics, electrical engineering and mathematics as well as general chemistry are taught intensively. In the process, the students expand their language skills in German, learn to use the technical language of the chosen field of study, acquire subject-specific basic knowledge and methods, and develop individual learning strategies.

We would like to welcome the participants of the first bbw Studienkolleg and wish them a lot of fun and success in their assessment test.
