Open Campus Day - Without Fake News

2018-06-23

Tag der offenen Tür im Juni 2018 an der bbw Hochschule

This time the students of " Media Management " had come up with something special. They wanted to discuss fake news with their future fellow students and had covered half of the floor with tweets and statements by communicative politicians, their press departments and other publicists, who were supposed to whet the appetite for a search for more or less clear signs for fake news or actual statements. After all, reliable facts and thorough research are indispensable for their profession. But on this 25th of June, only a few visitors found their way to the place where in any case one of the most exciting course presentations of the "Open Day" took place at the bbw University. But of course there were many other opportunities on all six floors to find out more about the new courses on offer. The English-language Master's courses were: " International Technology Transfer Management ", " Management of Creative Industries " or the new German-language course " International Business Management " or the first and completely new English-language Bachelor's courses " Business Management and Engineering " and " Management of Business Digitalization ", some of which were presented for the first time this Saturday.

As usual, students and their professors presented the courses of study between 10 and 15 o'clock everywhere in the house. Most of them several times. Administrative staff in their offices awaited prospective students for individual discussions about study plans, financing possibilities or internships, right up to career entry opportunities after graduation. If required, the university staff also accompanied prospective students through the university to the roof terrace, where snacks and drinks were available as always.

As always, there was a lot to do on the 3rd floor. Up to the end there were study consultations. Some prospective customers, even more than normally, left equal their registrations for a study there. Up to six weeks before the end of the semester break, and in exceptional cases even afterwards, interested students can register for the 2018/19 winter semester at the bbw university and study one of the 23 study programmes offered here full-time, dual or part-time.

Many visitors had apparently already informed themselves about possible courses of study before their visit to the "Open Day". They came to talk to the students about what the degree programme is "actually like", whether it can really be achieved "within the standard period of study, with part-time work" and "what the university as a whole looks like". They have already read everything else on the Internet. Janine B. came from Falkensee with her parents because she is interested in "economics" and here especially " Tourism and Event Management " and " Real Estate Management ". "I'm not sure yet, but I like the university. It is not small, but clear. And central. I immediately felt at home. The idea of studying business administration with a specialization that allows me to work worldwide - even in a completely different field - is not bad. And the possibility of studying for a suitable Master's degree here afterwards is not available everywhere. Even in English."
