The Study Programme
- Full-time studies: 3 years or 6 semester
- Part-time studies: 4 years or 8 semester
- Full-time studies: 1st April and 1st October
- Part-time studies: 1st October
- Approximately eight weeks of semester break are planned for each year of study.
- Full-time studies: In the period from 08:30 a.m. - 05:30 p.m.
- Part-time studies: Two evenings/week from 06:00 p.m. - 09:15 p.m. (Monday-Thursday) and two saturdays/month from 08:30 a.m. - 04:00 p.m.
After successful completion of all modules, which have to be completed by the 5th semester, you can be awarded the title Real Estate Economist (GdW) by the BBA Akademie der Immobilienwirtschaft e. V. (Academy of Real Estate Economics). The BBA Akademie der Immobilenwirtschaft e. V. is responsible for issuing the certificate.
Recognition of already completed academic achievements
Achievements already made within the framework of other training courses can be recognised after an individual examination and lead to a shortening of the study period.
Prof. Dr Dietmar Lucht teaches real estate management and general project management at the bbw University of Applied Sciences. His speciality is real estate project development. He has established the Bachelor's degree programme " Real Estate Management" and the Master's degree programme " Real Estate Project Management" at the university and permanently adapted them to current professional, methodological and market requirements. Prof. Lucht is a member of the Society for Real Estate Research, the German Society for Project Management and the German Association for Project Management in the Construction and Real Estate Industry. His current research focus includes the integration of requirements of private-sector real estate project development and the development of sustainable neighbourhoods.
The course is divided into two parts,
Basic Studies and
Advanced Studies. Thereby, the courses are modularly constructed.
The focus in the
Basic Studies is on study orientation, epistemology and personality development. In addition, current topics international economic and managerial aspects and ethical aspects form the foundation of economics.
While the basic studies emphasis on the basic knowledge of economics, the
Advanced Studies exclusively convey professional and industry related subjects. In addition to the compulsory modules, you decide individually on optional modules in order to follow your personal interests and strengthen your skills.
You can complete this study programme full-time or part-time. For full-time studies,
two internships are compulsory, which you can be complete in Germany or abroad, provide you important insights into the later professional life and should prepare you actively for starting a career.
The course of study concludes with a practice-oriented bachelor thesis and the award of the academic degree
"Bachelor of Arts".
All teaching content is taught according to the latest teaching methods and in networked application. Since our professors and lecturers come from the business world, they can integrate their experience and their network into their teaching in a particularly practical way. In addition, lectures, case studies and specialist debates parallel to specialist internships, excursions and guest lectures are formative elements of the course. In addition to classroom instruction, the acquired specialist knowledge is reflected and applied in self-study, in group work and in accompanying learning (eLearning). The different life and professional backgrounds of the students are seen as an important enrichment.
