Thanks to the good technical equipment, the commitment of the lecturers and the understanding of the students, we can look back on a very successful online semester. We continue to enable our students to complete their studies within the standard period of study without any loss of time and to give prospective students an up-to-date insight into university life.

Top Marks for our Online Teaching

Students and professors are very satisfied with online teaching at bbw Hochschule, as a recent survey shows. The survey asked, among other things, about the accessibility of staff and professors, the changeover from face-to-face to online lectures, the quality of the teaching content, the technical conditions as well as general changes and advantages and disadvantages. Almost 90 percent of the participants gave positive feedback. Both students and professors are open-minded about a further online semester and are looking forward to a further step towards digitisation.

Advantages of Online Teaching

As we always want to develop and work on ourselves and our service, we regularly conduct surveys among students. At the end of the summer semester, we conducted a survey on online teaching, with 90 percent of the respondents giving positive feedback. In addition, we found out about the advantages of online teaching, which we would like to share with you here.

The online lectures make the study programme completely independent of location. The students are highly flexible in their self-organisation with regard to their time zone and location. Many students greatly appreciate the fact that avoiding contact goes hand in hand with online teaching. By ensuring the teaching operation and the changeover to online teaching, we enable students to complete their studies within the standard period of study despite the corona pandemic. This gives the students absolute planning security for their future. Not all students count themselves among the Millenials and feel at home with digital media. Students who find the digital world rather difficult to deal with now have the chance to expand their media competence. Everything that the students gain in their online studies will help them in their future professional life.

Impressions of our Online Teaching

Small groups in web-based learning rooms at bbw Hochschule are an excellent double for gaining knowledge, transfer and competence acquisition in a challenging, globalised world.

Whether with online business games, virtual group work, online self-tests, live polling or gamification elements: Lecturers have the task of providing their students with a learning environment that provides the right incentives for preparing and following up sessions and promotes individual and collective learning. Lecturers at bbw Hochschule consider direct feedback from students, i.e. their customers, as an incentive to proactively face the changes in teaching.

Since the summer semester, all courses in the ITTM Master's programme have been held online. We are pleased that despite the fact that some of our Indian students are still in their home country, all courses are now even attended by more students virtually. From one day to the next, we have largely digitalised teaching and the fact that many of our current freshmen come to us on the recommendation of our current students makes us proud.

My students like the online teaching at bbw Hochschule Berlin. Online teaching offers planning security, independence of location and the greatest possible flexibility.

The bbw Hochschule - University of Appflied Sciences reacted quickly to the Corona crisis and switched its course of study to online teaching. Since mid-March, teaching and studying has been fully operational to enable students to complete their studies within the standard period of study. Universities and colleges that offer a extensive online range of courses have been awarded the Digital studies logo by StudyCheck.de. We also received this seal and we are very proud of it.
