The founding of a new private technical university in 2007 was the answer of the Bildungswerks der Wirtschaft in Berlin und Brandenburg (bbw) to the increasing demand for well-qualified academic specialists and management staff. Since then, it has grown significantly and has established itself as the largest private university in the region with currently over 1200 students.
A university with a future
The bbw Akademie für Betriebswirtschaftliche Weiterbildung GmbH is sponsor of the private, state-recognised bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences. It is also backed by strong partners from business and industry in the region and by its scientific partner university, the University of Applied Sciences in Berlin (HTW).
The bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences offers Bachelor's and Master's courses of study. In the Bachelor's study courses, you can choose between three subject groups with different industry specialisations.
In addition to German Master's courses in Eletrical Engineering and Real Estate Project Management, there are also English Master's courses in the subject groups of Educational and Social Sciences, Industrial Engineering and Economics and Business Management on offer.
The forms of study are possible as part-time extra-occupational (beginning on 1st October), full-time (begins on 1st April and 1st October) and dual (beginning on 1st October). This will finally close the gap in the German education system in favour of a higher permeability.
The growing complexity which companies face today can only be dealt with by well-trained employees. The bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences takes this into account with its range of study courses.
