Prof. Dr. Rafaela Kunz - new professor for International Technology Transfer Management

In June, the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences welcomed Prof. Dr. Rafaela Kunz as the new professor for International Technology Transfer Management in the Department of Industrial Engineering. Prof. Dr. Kunz's expertise is primarily innovation management, technology transfer and IP management.

Before she founded her own consulting agency with a focus on Open Innovation, Prof. Dr. Kunz was CEO & President of patent2ip, an international intellectual property (IP) consultancy. Before that, Prof. Dr. Kunz was Senior Licensing Manager at ipal, the former technology transfer office of Berlin universities. There she was responsible for technology transfer at Charité Universitätsmedizin and the Paul-Ehrlich-Institute (PEI).
Prof. Dr. Kunz obtained her first degree in biotechnology at the Anhalt University of Applied Sciences in Germany. She holds an MBA in European Management from the Berlin School of Economics and London South Bank University. She was recently awarded a doctorate in economics on "The Introduction and Adaptation of Open Innovation in the Biotech Sector". In addition to her new position as professor at the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences, she teaches entrepreneurship and innovation management at FOM.

Due to her many years of practical experience, research activities, teaching activities and her commitment as a member of the "International Society for Professionals for Innovation Management", Prof. Dr. Kunz has access to a large network of experts and entrepreneurs from the fields of innovation management and the health care industry and will actively contribute and use this network in her teaching.
