Yesterday, a delegation of managing directors of ten small and medium-sized companies from the branches metal construction, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering and plastic processing based in the Italian province Vicenza (Veneto), visited bbw University of Applied Sciences.
The aim of this ESF-funded study tour was to find out what smaller and medium-sized companies from the capital's region think about the topic of internationalisation, how they organise their resources on the international competition, how digitalisation develops with just 40 employees and of course if good market opportunities exist in Berlin and Brandenburg for Italian smaller and medium-sized companies (KMU). Thereby, the visitors also wanted to know whether bbw and especially bbw University could be a partner for them. For example, the establishment of business contacts with regional companies in the area of research or with the development of upcoming specialists. Furthermore, the guests from Italy were interested in the cultural specialities dealing with German businessmen, who are crucial to the success of cooperations. Therefore, the bbw Bildungswerk der Wirtschaft in Berlin und Brandenburg introduced itself with its three regional companies.
The bbw University of Applied Sciences presented itself and its research institute fib. Prof. Dr.-Ing. René Brunotte used the chance to give them an insight in the opportunities of 3D-printing technology. He demonstrated what the pro3-digy, a high speed high area printer with large pressure chamber, can do for industrial production of plastic parts. He was developed by a team of the university, in the meantime went into production, and is not only sold nationwide to companies and institutions.
