The new dual Bachelor's Degree Programme in Real Estate Management starts

As part of a digital immatriculation event the freshmen of the new dual Bachelor's Degree Programme in Real Estate Management were ceremoniously welcomed by the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences on the evening of 6th January 2022. Previously the immatriculation events took place in hybrid form in the Haus der Wirtschaft, but due to the current pandemic situation this time they had to be simulated via video conference.

Both the university management, professors and staff of the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences and the cooperation partner, the BBA - Akademie der Immobilienwirtschaft e.V. Berlin, were full of excitement as the dual Bachelor's Degree Programme in Real Estate Management starts at the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences for the first time. The special aspect of the dual Degree Programme is that in addition to the academic Bachelor of Arts certificate students at the same time complete an apprenticeship as a real estate management assistant at the BBA college. Thus, after only seven semesters they gain two high-quality certificates at the same time and can position themselves competently on the labour market after successful completion.

At 6:00 p.m. the new students were welcomed virtually by Laura Wilke, Head of University Marketing at the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences. Chancellor Ursula Schwill welcomed the new students on behalf of the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences and briefly introduced them. Ms Niedergesäß, Managing Director of the Board, was the guest on the BBA's behalf. She began by introducing the BBA and said a few words about the concept of the dual apprenticeship integrated Bachelor's Degree Programme. Furthermore she presented to the freshmen their perspectives after graduation and underlined the close involvement of the cooperation partners. Prof. Sanftenberg, head of the dual Bachelor's Degree Programme in Real Estate Management at the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences, introduced the newly immatriculated students to the course and its contents. Laura Wilke, who moderated the entire event then continued with the introduction of the Community. Christin Weiß, Head of Examination Management at bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences, then introduced herself and her department and informed the new students about important aspects of the examination process. The Moodle learning portal was presented and explained next by Carsten Wiegrefe, eLearning Coordinator at bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences. Afterwards the new students had the opportunity to ask questions to both the representatives of the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences and Ms Niedergesäß from the BBA.

Prof. Anne Sanftenberg gave motivating words to the new students: "You have made a very good choice, because on the one hand, the real estate industry is a very exciting, dynamic and relatively crisis-proof sector of the economy, which offers you very diverse fields of activity and development opportunities after your studies and on the other hand this Degree Programme grants you the unique opportunity to acquire academic and practical professional qualifications in parallel."
