On Tuesday 12th October 2021 the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences welcomed the newly immatriculated students of the dual Bachelor's degree courses in Electrical Engineering with specialisation in Control and Rail Automation Technology and Traction Power Supply and Trolley Systems for the winter semester 2021/22. The immatriculation event took place in hybrid form at the location in Leibnizstraße.
In addition to representatives of the professors deputies of the cooperation partners DB Netz AG, WSP, Spitzke Fahrwegsysteme GmbH, Deutsche Bahn AG and SIGNON Deutschland GmbH were also present to give the new students an insight into the companies and future career fields with short keynote speeches. The immatriculation event was moderated by the head of the degree programme Prof. Hahlweg.
First the new students were welcomed by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Prof. Schultz-Zehden with an opening speech. This was followed by a keynote speech by Jana Schaller, Head of HR Region East of the cooperation partner DB Netz AG. Magali Hernandez, Business Development Officer, then introduced the cooperation partner WSP. Alexander von Lieven, Managing Director Eletrical Engineering and Production from Spitzke Fahrwegsysteme GmbH, also gave a short keynote speech followed by Norbert Apel, Chairman of the bbw Advisory Board for Engineering Sciences, who represented Deutsche Bahn AG. Ulrike Sieren, Head of LST at SIGNON Deutschland GmbH, who was connected online via WebEx, addressed a few motivating words to the students on behalf of the company. Prof. Fröse then took the floor and prepared the new students for the upcoming lectures. The event was rounded off with a brief insight into the organisation and administration of the studies so that the new students got a good overview of what to expect in the next three years.
The bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences welcomes all new students and wishes them an instructive and successful study. We are glad to finally be able to welcome students personally at the location again.
