Change of Managing Director in bbw Gruppe

Dr. Sascha J. Flemnitz and Alexander Schirp succeed Dr. Andreas Forner

Since the 1st of October 2020, bbw Gruppe has a new management: Managing Director Dr. Andreas Forner is retiring on the 30th of November 2020 after almost 30 years at bbw. He served as Managing Director for twelve years. His successor will be Dr. Sascha J. Flemnitz. He already took up this position on the 1st of October. He will take over the operative business at bbw Bildungswerk der Wirtschaft in Berlin und Brandenburg e.V. Alexander Schirp from the Berlin-Brandenburg Business Associations will support him in strategic matters as Managing Director, who was appointed at the same time. At bbw Akademie für Betriebswirtschaftliche Weiterbildung GmbH, the largest bbw company, Dr. Flemnitz will manage the business together with Kerstin Kehl, and at bbw Bildungszentrum Ostbrandenburg GmbH he will be assisted by Jürgen Weiß.

bbw Gruppe is active with four companies in the areas of training and further education, university studies, consulting, career orientation and integration to secure skilled workers in the economy. It is currently represented at around 20 locations, primarily in the capital region, but also in China and Russia. The handover phase is currently taking place.

Dr. Sascha J. Flemnitz is 41 years old. He comes from Essen and holds a doctorate in social and economic sciences. After working in the temporary employment industry, as a university lecturer, coach and consultant, he was most recently deputy managing director of a group of companies in the education sector with a focus on Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.

Alexander Schirp is a lawyer and for many years has been one of the managing directors of the Berlin-Brandenburg Association of Business Associations (UVB). Here he is also the long-standing head of the Social Security, Labour Market and Vocational Training division.

On the 5th of October, the University Management of bbw Hochschule, Rector Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gebhard Hafer and Chancellor Heide Traemann welcomed Dr. Flemnitz to the university and introduced him to the College. bbw Hochschule is looking forward to future cooperation.
