A warm welcome to our new students

Immatrikulationsveranstaltung National Wintersemester 2022/23

On 4th and 5th October, the new students of the Bachelor's degree programmes Real Estate Management, Media and Event Management, Electrical Engineering and those of the Master's degree programmes Real Estate Project Management and Electrical Engineering - Advanced Technical Systems Management were ceremoniously welcomed to the winter semester 2022/23 during a two-day enrolment event at the Haus der Wirtschaft.

The prorector for teaching at the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Beate Schultz-Zehden opened the event with an exciting speech and then handed over to Ursula Schwill, chancellor of the bbw. Prof. Oliver MacConnell fascinated the first-year students with an impulse speech and gave them motivating words for their new phase of life. His advice to students: Have the courage to dare to do something; be patient enough to follow through with ideas and have enough courage to accept help when things don't work out as planned. After a short break, Prof. Schultz-Zehden explicitly introduced the Prorectorate of Teaching and gave insights into how teaching will work in the winter semester 2022/23. Ursula Schwill continued with the introduction of the Chancellorship. Afterwards, the students had the opportunity to take a deep breath and exchange ideas during the short lunch break with snacks and drinks. After the festive part of the event, the new students were given a tour of the entire university building and got to know the administrative staff directly at their workplace. Afterwards, everyone gathered for a get-together in the Haus der Wirtschaft.

On the second day, the freshmen were introduced to our web portals by Carsten Wiegrefe. Afterwards, the departments, Examination Management, Library, International Office, Career Service and the fib Research Institute introduced themselves. From 4 p.m., all guests were warmly invited to the Semester Welcome Party of the PUSH Startup Center on our beautiful rooftop. While enjoying boulettes and gin tonic, everyone got to know each other and networked.
