Prof. Dr. Lukas Rafflenbeul was appointed the new director of the Institute for Academic Further Education at the bbw University of Applied Sciences on August 30, 2022. In this role, he succeeds Prof. Dr. Uwe Kaschka, who took over as director immediately after the institute was founded in April 2021.
Since May of last year, the iawb has successfully offered academic continuing education programs and certificate courses for specialists and executives in a broad range of topics under the academic direction of professors and industry experts.
Prof. Dr. Lukas Rafflenbeul:
"For me, the new activity is an important addition to my work as a professor. Education is a lifelong process and it is therefore particularly important not only to train young people but to create an offer that accompanies people throughout their entire life and career."
The new institute director has been a professor of industrial engineering at the bbw University of Applied Sciences since 2019. Prior to his professorship, the industrial engineer worked in particular in the international environment in the automotive industry. For example, he worked for more than 15 years in product management, strategic planning and group research and development at Volkswagen AG and led projects in Germany, America and Africa.
