Winter semester start 2024/25

The winter semester at bbw University of Applied Sciences began on October 1 and we would like to welcome our new first semester students! One group of students on the full-time Bachelor's degree course in Economics and Business Management - Real Estate Management and one group of students on the part-time Bachelor's degree course in Electrical Engineering and the Master's degree course in Electrical Engineering - Advanced Technical Facility Management have successfully started their studies. The new students were warmly welcomed by Moritz Müller, Head of Administration, and Prof. Dr. Johannes Kirch, Head of the Department of Economics, at a small welcoming event.

A special highlight this year was welcoming over 60 new dual students from the rail sector. The enrolment event for the dual degree courses in Electrical Engineering - Control and sRail Automation Technology and Electrical Engineering - Raction Power Supply and Trolley Systems took place in the presence of our practice partners. Representatives from Deutsche Bahn, WSP, safeTrail GmbH and BPR Dr. Schäpertöns Consult GmbH & Co. KG were on hand to personally welcome the students and share their experiences with them.

Our international students were welcomed as part of the traditional "Welcome Days". Almost 100 students from countries such as Ethiopia, Pakistan, India, Ecuador, Romania, New Zealand, Malaysia, Iran and the Congo started their Bachelor's degree in Business Management and Engineering or their Master's degree in International Technology Transfer Management, Strategic Management in Logistics and Sustainability and Smart Building Technology. As not all of them were able to be in Berlin for the start of the semester, the "Welcome Days" took place entirely online. The International Office's comprehensive orientation programme offered international first-year students optimal preparation for the challenges of their new phase of life. During the official enrolment ceremony, the President of bbw University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Robert Dust, and the Head of University Administration, Moritz Müller, warmly welcomed the new arrivals.
