"With the move, we are opening a new chapter in the development of the bbw - University of Applied Sciences," said Christian Amsinck at the inauguration of the new locaton of the bbw University on 19 June 2023.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of bbw University and Chief Executve Officer of the Berlin-Brandenburg Business Associatons cut the symbolic red ribbon together with the District Councillor of Treptow-Köpenick responsible for further educaton, Marco Brauchmann, and bbw University of Applied Sciences Chancellor Ursula Schwill to open the official new start of the educatonal institution in Berlin-Adlershof.
The bbw University of Applied Sciences, which is supported by the bbw Akademie für Betriebswirtschaftliche Weiterbildung GmbH, had already started teaching in April of this year in the state-of-the-art OFFICE LAB CAMPUS in Wagner-Régeny-Straße 21 on the grounds of Germany's largest science and technology park.
The move from Berlin-Charlottenburg was celebrated with a summer party on Monday, which was attended by a large number of personalities from research, teaching, business and politics, as well as students, lecturers, alumni and staff. The guests included the district mayor of Treptow-Köpenick, Oliver Igel, as well as Mareike and Rolf Lechner from the Berlin project developer immobilien-experten-ag.
The new start at Berlin's top location for business, science and research, which offers excellent opportunities for interdisciplinary exchange and future partnerships, has been a great success for the bbw Hochschule.
Above all, the short distances to the many innovative and research-intensive companies in the Adlershof Science and Technology Park ensure that the bbw Hochschule will have an even closer connection to business practice in the future," says Christian Amsinck.
"With our offer, we fit perfectly into the dynamic environment in Adlershof," finds the Rector of the bbw University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gebhard Hafer.
"Our large selection of bachelor's and master's degree programmes in economics, industrial engineering and engineering sciences, as well as our special offer for working professionals, contribute to making the education system more permeable," he explained.
District Councillor Marco Brauchmann sees the new educational institution in Adlershof as an enrichment that enhances the district of Treptow-Köpenick. "We feel very much at home in Adlershof and appreciate the optimal conditions of our new ideal working, teaching and learning environment."
The summer festival guests were able to see this for themselves when the university management took them on a tour of the brand new, light-flooded and atmospherically peaceful premises on the new campus. Afterwards, they had the opportunity to enjoy the multimedia exhibition "Colours, Shapes and Sounds in the World of Mathematics - 100 Years of Kaluza's Fifth Dimension" with Prof. Dr.-Ing. Cornelius Hahlweg and the artist(s) Witold Stypa and Irena Imanska in the Electrotechnical Laboratory.
