New Professors for our Wintersemester 2019

Prof. Dr. Rafflenbeul and Prof. Dr. Schünemann

With the start of the 2019/20 winter semester, bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences welcomes four new professors. Already in September, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gebhard Hafer, Rector of bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Michael Jasniak and Prof. Dr. Claudia Nagel presented the appointment certificates for their new activities. Two further professors, Prof. Dr. Ingo Schünemann and Prof. Dr. Lukas Rafflenbeul, were appointed at the Opening Ceremony on 08 October.

Here is a brief presentation of the main teaching areas and expertise of our new professors:

Prof. Dr. Michael Jasniak
Professor of Trade Management and eCommerce

Prof. Jasniak joined our professorship on 01 September. For several years he has been working as a freelance lecturer in the fields of international business etiquette, negotiation, rhetoric, social skills, presentation techniques, business intelligence and big data in higher education. In 2015, he set up his own start-up company DOLMISSIMO. DOLMISSIMO is an online portal that provides uncomplicated mediation for hearing-impaired people and interpreters. Since 2012, Prof. Jasniak has been working for KPMG Wirtschaftsprüfungsgesellschaft in addition to his new role as a lecturer. His expertise lies in the areas of Deal Strategy IT/ Tech Due Diligence Lead, IT Carve-out, IT Integration, Strategic Management, Trade Management, eCommerce, Entrepreneurship, Mergers Acquisitions, Start-Up Coaching, Change Management, Audit, Core Consulting, Controlling, PMO and Leadership.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Claudia Nagel
Professor of Industrial Engineering

Prof. Nagel is an industrial engineer and specialist for logistics and supply chain management with a focus on high-tech industries. She is primarily concerned with all issues of supply management, operations and digitization. She has been a professor at the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences since 1 September. In addition, Prof. Nagel is a successful entrepreneur in the real estate and security technology sector. In 2012, together with two entrepreneurs, she founded KIWI.KI GmbH, which was awarded the innovation prize in the "TOP 100 Competition" in 2018 as Germany's innovation leader. The company offers a secure, innovative and convenient alternative to conventional door keys, namely a keyless digital access system for multi-family house doors. Prof. Nagel is also the founder of High Rise Ventures GmbH. The Tech-Startup helps companies in the early and seed phase to develop suitable business models for their technologies and to make them successful in the real estate industry.

Prof. Dr. Lukas Rafflenbeul
Professor of Industrial Engineering

Prof. Rafflenbeul took over as professor at the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences on 01 October. Until now, the industrial engineer has been active in the automotive industry, especially in an international environment. At Volkswagen AG he worked for more than 13 years in product management, strategic planning and control as well as in corporate research and development. As a project manager, he worked for Volkswagen in Germany, America and Africa. Due to his professional experience, as well as his international experience, Prof. Rafflenbeul will be employed especially in the international Master's program International Technology Transfer Management. His expertise in the areas of strategy, logistics, production, manufacturing technology and materials science will enrich the field of industrial engineering.

Prof. Dr. Ingo Schünemann
Professor of Media Management

Prof. Schünemann was also appointed as professor on 01 October. Previously he was Dean of Media Economics and Media Management at DIPLOMA University. In addition to his teaching activities, Prof. Schünemann has been a partner of Polarlicht Filmproduktion since 2008, which has produced image films for commercial purposes in addition to feature films and documentaries. Prof. Schünemann worked as an editor for the channel Sat.1 and for the channel group ProSiebenSat.1 for several years as a consultant in the field of corporate communication/media policy in Berlin. From 2012, Schünemann worked in Cologne for Splendid Medien AG in the field of film licensing and as a producer for feature films. As an editor he contributed to novels and non-fiction books such as Ariadne von Schirachs bestseller "Der Tanz um die Lust" (The Dance around Lust), and as a dramaturg and co-author he was also involved in the creation of screenplays.
