Graduation ceremony at Maritim proArte

On November 08, 2019, our graduation ceremony with 158 graduates and their guests took place at the Maritim proArte. Our keynote speaker Ingo Malter formulated a very fitting sentence for our graduates by telling them "This day today is definitely not the end of something for you, but the beginning".

"I know that this is a very sad day for you. Your studies are over now. No more parties, no more free time, no more sleeping till noon. So I'm here to give you a little motivation for the future." With these words our keynote speaker, Ingo Malter, Managing Director of Stadt und Land Wohnbauten GmbH, introduced his speech. Ingo Malter created a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere in front of our graduates, guests, professors and employees in the ballroom of the Maritim proArte.

Many graduates are naturally very concerned about the topics "future" and "success" after their studies. Ingo Malter took up these topics at various points in his speech and gave our graduates important advice for the way. But first he confirmed to our graduates that they had already taken an important step years ago. "Dear graduates, you have made a great decision to complete this course of study for various reasons. First of all, you recognized the relevance of education and knowledge for your future. Secondly, you have chosen a renowned university with excellent professors. Furthermore, you have chosen Berlin - the city I am in love with. But the most important aspect seems to be that you have put the focus on your future." The topic "future" looks different for everyone. One will continue his studies with a master's degree, another has a job in his pocket and will finally earn real money - but each of you will go his own way and with a little luck and hard work you will succeed.

Our Rector, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gebhard Hafer, also took up the topic of the "future" in his laudatory speech and motivated our graduates with the words "Shape your personal future, but also a future that is relevant to society as a whole. Be courageous, be prepared to take on something and approach the coming challenges with a positive basic attitude".

Our graduate Saranja Kennedy also found good words when she spoke to the 158 graduates and their guests: "We graduates can all be proud of ourselves. And we are also allowed to show it and tell everyone. Because one thing is clear: it was not an easy road and we really had to prove ourselves - not only professionally but also humanly. Therefore, remember your best moments in your studies and don't just make this degree a completed to-do on your list, but as a stage in life that comes to a successful end, that opens new doors for you and from which you can hopefully take a lot with you for your future.
