The bbw University of Applied Sciences has signed an agreement with the
largest college in the Chinese province of Hebei on future cooperation in the field of academic education and training for Chinese professionals. Hebei is the official partner province of the Federal State of Brandenburg and the catchment area of the Chinese capital Beijing.
In future, the bbw university of Applied Sciences will cooperate with the
"Hebei College for Industry and Technology" in Shijiazhuang and support the educational institution in establishing and expanding suitable capacities. The bbw University of Applied Sciences and the Hebei College of Industry and Technology signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 18 May 2019 as part of the Sino-German Vocational Education Cooperation Conference in Langfang.
Prof. Dr. Thoralf Buller, Director of Studies at bbw University of Applied Sciences, said: "We are in an intensive and very constructive dialogue with our partner to develop suitable measures to implement the 'Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Integration Plan' adopted by the Chinese government. With the agreement reached, we have created the basis for establishing cooperation with the Hebei College of Industry and Technology to secure skilled workers.
The bbw University of Applied Sciences followed an official invitation of the Chinese side and visited the region together with a delegation accompanied by the Gesellschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit (GiZ). The province of Hebei regionally surrounds the Chinese capital Beijing. With a good 75 million inhabitants, the region is regarded as a future growth engine for the People's Republic and an important hinterland for the major cities of Beijing and Tianjin.
