Graduate Survey 2019 Top marks for bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences

The graduates of the 2019 graduating class have given our university very good grades across all courses of study. More than 77% of the survey participants rated the ratio between teachers and students with 1 or 2. More than 70% with grades 1 and 2 praised the accessibility of professors, other teaching staff and university personnel. 72% rated the organisation of the study programme as A or B. And: More than 75% of the evaluations were top marks for the practical relevance of the study programme.

In view of the fact that approximately 20% of the respondents from the bachelor's programmes are planning a master's programme after their studies at bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences, the figure of 70% who had already found a job at the time of handing over their certificates or had direct prospects of doing so is also positive. With more than 200 successful graduates per year, the fact that the vast majority of our Bachelor's and Master's graduates are in favour of a career start in the Berlin-Brandenburg region shows that the bbw University of Applied Sciences makes a significant contribution to securing skilled labour in Berlin-Brandenburg.

One of the graduates who were able to sign an employment contract immediately after graduation is the 25-year-old Saranja Kennedy. She completed her bachelor's degree in Business Sciences in autumn 2019, specialising in Tourism and Event Management, and has since been working as a career consultant for a renowned personnel services company in Berlin. "The survey results correspond with what I clicked on. I had a great time studying at the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences. And when I hear from my circle of friends what is reported there from other universities, I think: I can be very satisfied. The combination of economics with an industry focus and the overall practice-oriented studies were ideal for me. I had to make an effort during my studies, because the study modules are of a high standard. That is why I am very proud to have made it today. I liked the fact that the professors put a lot of effort into supporting us where possible and necessary. That helped me a lot, for example in business math. It was also good that we had a study group from the beginning to the end, so we could support each other well. I heard that almost all the people I interviewed in my year would recommend our university to others. Me too."

"As a daughter of a christian refugee from Sri Lanka, who was born here in Berlin, got a good school leaving certificate, completed an apprenticeship as a wholesale and foreign trade merchant (IHK), lives and works here, I am very proud of my bachelor's degree in Business Sciences at the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences. I had a great time at the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences and I would like to do my Master's degree here soon while working. Unfortunately, there is not yet one for personnel management, because that is exactly my direction. I already discovered my interest in it during my studies and I am very grateful for what I learned about economic interrelationships. Even though I had to make a lot of effort in e.g. business math and cost and performance accounting. I'm also glad that I was allowed to work as a student assistant parallel to my studies - that's where I learned to see things not only from a student perspective but also from a university organizational perspective. And I am grateful that the Career Service gave me the tip for a student trainee position at a large personnel services company, where I am now employed as a career advisor. This enabled me to finance my studies. I know that many of my former fellow students had a job immediately after graduation. Luckily, so did I. I would also like to pursue my own career to date and stay in the personnel industry. I notice at various points in my everyday work that my studies in particular were a perfect preparation for this".
