Open Air: Summer Event of the Push Startup Center

On Wednesday, 07.07.2021, the summer event of the bbw Startup Center took place with the aim of enabling alumni, professors and founders to engage and to network. MCI alumnus, current PhD student and Founder of the Month June, Salim Kraatz provided exciting insights into his start-up experiences, his impressive career path, including his time as an employee at the United Nations in New York and the topic of his dissertation. A highlight was the networking of the in total 40 participants live on the spot, which was finally possible thanks to test or vaccination certificates and Corona measures after months of online formats due to the pandemic. Among the participants, we also welcomed previous and future founders of the month. The special aspect of these 11 participants is that, with one exception, they are all alumni or students of our university, or more precisely of the Management of Creative Industries, Real Estate Management or Event and Media Management degree programmes. Although the PUSH Startup Center of the bbw University of Applied Sciences presents these founders and their startups monthly on our social media channels under the format "Founder of the Month", it was particularly exciting to enable them to exchange ideas and experiences with each other as well as with professors, students and bbw employees.

"After the last few months of communication with students, founders and alumni were mainly characterised by online sessions, it was time for a face-to-face meeting and the (often) first personal exchange. - On a warm summer evening above the Charlottenburg skyline on the roof terrace of the bbw University of Applied Sciences. Encouraged by the interesting conversations between students, founders, professors and colleagues at the bbw Hochschule, we look forward to the coming events", says head of the bbw Startup Center, Christian Grosser.
