Open Campus day at the bbw University of Applied Sciences

On Saturday, 24th June 2017, the bbw University of Applied Sciences presented itself well prepared for all the questions of high school graduates and professionals that like to start their studies at bbw University of Applied Sciences on 1st September or 1st October. Almost every hour informational sessions took place mainly in the first three floors of the university in Leibnitzstraße, where students and professors presented their study program. A high demand lay on the dual study program Electrical engineering / Electronics, which the bbw University of Applied Sciences offers for Deutsche Bahn, BVG, Signon and further partners of the company. Even company representatives, e.g. from engineering offices, arrived to inform their selves about the possibility to enter the existing range of courses.

Like most other professors, two out of three professors of our new university advertising campaign, Prof. Dr. Behrmann and Prof. Dr. Lucht, were on the spot. Those who wanted to get to know them had the possibility to seek advice. Some people interested in economic Bachelor-programs - e.g. with the specialization Real Estate Management and Business Communication or the Master-programs Real Estate Project Management or Management of Creative Industries -used this opportunity.

A lot of young prospective students interested in full-time studies came here with their parents; others interested in a course of study while working came with their partners or family, who wanted to take a look at the seminar rooms and laboratories, to examine the administrative area, to inform their selves about the recognition of professional and advanced training degrees, and finally, despite missing sun, rested at the buffet on the 7th floor on the roof terrace of the university, or ended their tour. As usual, soups, filled pasties and all kinds of snacks and beverages were provided for all visitors.

As in previous years, most interested prospective students came from Berlin, but some of the visitors specifically travelled all the way from the surrounding federal states to attend the open day at bbw University of Applied Sciences. The central location of the university close to the main station and station Zoo, as well as the good traffic connection with public transportation were just as important criteria for their decision as the central study organisation of the university. This is designed for a standard period of study, a group size of 15-30 students and therefore no overcrowded lecture halls, a special practical relevance of the study program with two internships, various excursions to business partners and interesting companies in the region, as well as good career prospects of all graduates. The ones who were convinced about the bbw University's concept as a University of Applied Sciences for Sciences, left their applications or reserved a place in the chosen study program.

For an enrolment for the winter semester, the high season is about to begin at the study office. Therefore, consultation appointments shall be arranged, all documents shall be put together, and, if necessary, attendance dates and trial lectures shall be arranged. All applications for extra occupational studies shall be submitted to the study office by mid-August at the latest; for full-time studies until mid-September.
