Welcome to bbw University of Applied Sciences: Welcome Ceremonies in Online Format
Over the past two days, the welcome ceremonies were held at bbw University of Applied Sciences. Due to the increasing incidence of infection around the world, the
welcome ceremonies were held entirely as an online format for the first time. The online events made it possible for students within the whole of Germany or even those on the other side of the world to follow the events digitally.
On Thursday, April 8, the national students were welcomed. On Friday, April 9, the international students were welcomed. The university management, professors and staff of bbw University of Applied Sciences warmly welcomed the newcomers via WebEx. Of course, bbw University of Applied Sciences always follows the current developments. Therefore, the summer semester 2021 will also start online for all semesters.
At the beginning of the enrollment events, the anchor professors of the study programmes gave keynote speeches to introduce the new students to their study programme and to give them important tips for their studies and careers. In particular, the keynote speech by Prof. MacConnell, Professor of Fashion Management, on the topic of
"Time for new ideas - Why studying now is so important" was well received by the audience and was able to alleviate possible concerns of the study starters about the changes taking place and the future.
About one-third of the newly enrolled students start their bachelor's degree with us, the other two-thirds are pursuing a master's degree. The prospective bachelor's students are distributed among the study programmes
Health Management, Real Estate Management and Fashion Management. The students who have already completed a bachelor's degree and are pursuing a master's degree with us are starting their studies in the degree programmes
International Technology Transfer Management, Strategic Management in Logistics and Management of Creative Industries.
