Innovative Course International Technology Transfer Management Launched

The new international Master's in International Technology Transfer Management from the bbw University of Applied Science started slightly later than the winter semester this year, because the 19 young Indians from the first group of students only received their entry visa to Germany somewhat later than planned. For the next two years, they will study here in Berlin together with their fellow students from Russia, Iran and Germany Deutschland, prepare for their Master's degree and then aim for managerial positions in major, international companies - here, in India or anywhere in the world.

The course is innovative in many ways. And not just for our university. It reflects global processes of technology development and the use of technology with the aim of facilitating understanding and cooperation between companies, sectors and countries. It therefore has an extremely international focus and will be held in English. German is learned in parallel, as a component of the course.

More than 90% of the students on the new Master's in International Technology Transfer Management course are foreign students , mainly from India, who, just like their fellow students from Germany, bring expertise from various economics-based Bachelor's degrees. They will also develop various perspectives and thus enhance the success of their studies. It is also unusual that the students will complete a placement on the course, which will give them special insight into established technology-based companies and should make starting work easier.

In order for this to succeed, in his welcoming speech the bbw Managing Director, Dr. Andreas Forner thanked Prof. Dr. Horst Juncker, who has been a long-standing supporter of the university development and "father" of this course and who will "contribute his academic reputation, his strong international connection and work as a lecturer". In his address, Prof. Dr. Tilman Eichstädt, who will also be a teaching lecturer as Professor for Logistics and Supply Chain Management at the bbw University of Applied Science, emphasised that the course would be appropriate for the current development of global markets and rapid technological development There will probably be growth and demand in the technology-based sectors, in particular. He said to the students: "And you are therefore at the right university at the tight time and on the right course. The companies of the future will need experts who can recognise problems in time and take on management so that they can be solved."
