In a festive setting on October 10th, a significant event took place at the House of Economy - the matriculation ceremony for the dual degree programs in Electrical Engineering with a focus on Control and Safety Systems as well as Railway Power Supply and Overhead Lines. Commencing at 9:30 a.m., a total of approximately 80 ambitious students were warmly welcomed. Professor Dr.-Ing. Hahlweg and Professor Dr. Fröse were also present to welcome the new students and support them on their academic journey.
The event commenced with inspiring speeches from Chancellor Ursula Schwill and the Dean Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hafer. These addresses emphasized the importance of the educational path and the opportunities that studying at the bbw University of Applied Sciences offers. Furthermore, the students gained valuable insights from our industry partners: BPR Dr. Schäpertöns Consult GmbH Co. KG, SPITZKE SE Güterverkehrszentrum (GVZ) Berlin-Süd, WSP Infrastructure Engineering GmbH, and Safer Rail. These presentations provided the students with valuable insights into professional practices and the diverse possibilities within their fields.
Throughout the ceremony, Coordinator Christin Weiß presented the various departments of the bbw University of Applied Sciences, including the examination management, and provided essential information crucial for the ongoing semester.
In line with the colder season, the students had the opportunity to warm up and connect with each other during the lunch break with a hearty soup. Additionally, during the matriculation ceremony, a Q&A session was held to ensure a smooth start to the winter semester 2023.
We are thrilled to welcome our new students in the winter semester and look forward to a successful journey together.
