This is exactly where we belong," affirms Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gebhard Hafer, Rector of bbw University of Applied Sciences.

"It is time for us to take this new, right and for us important path," also thinks the Chancellor of bbw University of Applied Sciences, Ursula Schwill. "I'm looking forward to our new domicile in this inspiring environment of the Science and Technology Park, which is a perfect fit for our university."

What was previously only a plan is now set to become reality next March after the 2022/2023 winter semester: bbw University of Applied Sciences will leave its location at Leibnizstraße 11-13 in Berlin-Charlottenburg, where it has been based since its founding 15 years ago.

The new light-flooded and atmospherically calm premises in the state-of-the-art OFFICE LAB CAMPUS in Wagner-Régeny-Straße on the grounds of the Science and Technology Park in Berlin-Adlershof offer ideal conditions for a pleasant working and teaching environment. The building with an inviting campus structure was constructed by the Berlin-based project developer immobilien-experten-ag and the Hessian construction company Adolf Lupp GmbH + Co KG.

The new building, where detailed planning for the future design is currently still in full swing, is conveniently located in the immediate vicinity of the Berlin-Adlershof S-Bahn station. Both the landscaped courtyards and the neighboring landscape park allow for varied recreational breaks, while the high-performance fiber optic network and Adlershof's 5G campus network ensure the best connections to the entire world. Restaurants, cafés and shopping facilities are located in the neighborhood.

"bbw University of Applied Sciences sees the most important and greatest potential here, new to the Berlin-Adlershof site, for the future and further development of the university," says the chancellor. This is because the surroundings of Germany's largest science and technology park, which covers an area of 4.6 square kilometers, offer the best opportunities for research, teaching, scientific exchange and future partnerships. In addition to 1,187 companies and institutions from the scientific sector with 24,500 employees, 6,650 students from various universities and around 1,000 trainees study here.

"Our university has grown in its 15 years of existence - in its student numbers, its degree programs, its internationality, its visions and goals, just like Berlin as a cosmopolitan metropolis," says Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gebhard Hafer.

With around 1,200 students, bbw University of Applied Sciences is one of the largest private, state-recognized universities in Berlin and Brandenburg with a particularly business-oriented study programme. It offers mainly business management, industrial engineering and engineering-related bachelor's and master's degree programs, which can be completed full-time, part-time or on a dual basis.

As a university of business for business, it is sponsored by the bbw Akademie für Betriebswirtschaftliche Weiterbildung GmbH, a company of the Bildungswerk der Wirtschaft in Berlin und Brandenburg.

"We are already looking forward to our move and are currently planning all the necessary processes so that everything will run smoothly in the spring. It will be a very special adventure for all of us, for the entire staff, for our teachers and students, but I am sure that together we will be able to manage it well," says Ursula Schwill.
