Start signal for bbw Start-up Center PUSH

Now the development of the bbw Start-up Center PUSH can begin - the final notice of approval has arrived: from May 2020 to February 2024, the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences will receive the funding of around one million euros from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) that was promised in December 2019. Thanks to the convincing concept and the expertise of its partners - the Berlin-Brandenburg Business Associations (UVB) and the Centre for Entrepreneurship (CfE) of the TU Berlin - it was able to win this as one of the prize winners in the BMWi competition in December last year as part of the "EXIST-Potentials" support programme.

Now the concept for the bbw Start-up Center PUSH is being implemented. It will offer students, graduates and teaching staff of the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences, as well as external people interested in founding their own business, practical advice, support in taking their first steps into self-employment and assistance in entering the market, thus giving further impetus to the science and start-up metropolis of Berlin. The bbw Start-up Center PUSH sees itself as an open, dialogue-oriented and transparent research and consulting institution that actively seeks the exchange between future founders of new businesses both within and outside of science and industry. In order to facilitate a lively exchange between all participants, various communication and cooperation formats are being developed.

Christian Grosser, Head of the bbw Start-up Center: "With the support provided by the "EXIST-Potentials" programme, we have the opportunity to establish a lively and activating start-up culture. We want to motivate our students and alumni, including many foreign students, but also, for example, bbw further education graduates with and without academic degrees, who are interested in starting their own business, to start up their own company and to provide professional support when entering the market. We will locate our bbw Start-up Center in Berlin's Haus der Wirtschaft and thus offer a very central contact point for future entrepreneurs. We will then be located in the same building as the UVB, at the main location of the bbw Bildungswerk der Wirtschaft in Berlin and Brandenburg - to which the bbw Academy belongs - and in the immediate vicinity of their bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences with its very active research department and associated institutes. A perfect place to support young entrepreneurs with innovation potential and to bring them together with the established economy and its know-how, if required."
