Semester starts on the new campus

An exhausting time, during which everything revolved around the successful move from Berlin-Charlottenburg to Berlin-Adlershof, is now behind the team at bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences. From its founding 16 years ago, the educational institution was located at Leibnizstraße 11-13. But for the past fortnight, the brand-new, light-flooded and atmospherically calm premises in the highly modern OFFICE LAB CAMPUS at Wagner-Régeny-Straße 21 on the grounds of the Science and Technology Park in Berlin-Adlershof have been the new home of the bbw.
Although teaching is already underway for the 2023 summer semester, there will be some remaining work to be done in the coming weeks, but for the chancellor, Ursula Schwill, one aspect is most important of all:

"We feel very comfortable in this inspiring environment of the Science and Technology Park and very much appreciate the optimal conditions for an ideal working, teaching and learning environment."

The Rector of the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gebhard Hafer, is also pleased with the successful new start: "I remain convinced that this is exactly where we belong and that this top location in Berlin for business, science and research with its young, dynamic and innovative aura will greatly enrich our everyday campus life. We have started the summer semester 2023 in good spirits in a changed environment with important potential for the future and the further development of our university."

Ursula Schwill personally welcomed the students of the Real Estate Project Management Master's programme and their programme director, Professor Dr. Dietmar Lucht, to the first lecture on the new campus on 13 April 2023.

"So far, the feedback from the students and my colleagues has been overwhelmingly positive," says the chancellor.

The surroundings of Germany's largest science and technology park, which covers an area of 4.6 square kilometres, offer the best opportunities for research, teaching, scientific exchange and future partnerships. In addition to 1 187 companies and institutions from the science sector with 24 500 employees, 6 650 students from various universities and about 1 000 trainees study here.

With around 1,200 students, the bbw Hochschule, which is run by the bbw Akademie für Betriebswirtschaftliche Weiterbildung GmbH, is one of the largest private, state-recognised universities in Berlin and Brandenburg with a particularly business-oriented study programme.

It offers mainly business administration, industrial engineering and engineering-related Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in German and English, which can be completed full-time, part-time or dual.

"One milestone has already been reached. It was an adventure at times and will remain challenging for the entire staff, for our teachers and students, for a while until everything, especially the technology, runs smoothly. But I am convinced that our efforts will be rewarded and that the bbw Hochschule is just entering a new era," says Ursula Schwill.
