Appointment of the Vice Rectors for Student Affiars and Teaching, Further Academic Education and Research

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Kaschka on his appointment as Vice Rector for Further Academic Education

The management of bbw Hochschule has appointed three prorectors for the winter semester 2020 to ensure sustainable Student Affiars and Teaching, Research and Further Academic Education. The vice rectors were elected by their representatives in the last Academic Senate. With Chancellor Heide Traemann and Rector Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gebhard Hafer, the university management now consists of five persons.

Prof. Dr. Beate Schultz-Zehden was appointed as Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Teaching. As Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Teaching, she is responsible for the orderly conduct of courses and all examination procedures at the university. In addition, she is the deputy to the Rector Prof. Dr.-Ing. Gebhard Hafer in academic matters.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Zahn has been appointed Vice Rector for Research. In his new position he is responsible for the development and implementation of research projects at the university and ensures the transfer of research content into teaching.

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Uwe Kaschka has been appointed as Vice Rector for Further Academic Education and will strengthen the university management. As Vice Rector for Further Academic Education he is responsible for the development of academic continuing education programmes for companies and professionals and ensures the orderly implementation of academic continuing education programmes at the university.

During the last scientific seminar on 05.10.2020 Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hafer appointed the elected professors to their new office. The event was held in hybrid form, whereby Prof. Dr. Schultz-Zehden and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Zahn could only be present digitally.  

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hafer: "I am delighted that three proven university professors have been elected to the office of Vice Rector by the Academic Senate of our university with a convincing result. The neuroscientist, data scientist and founder, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Thomas Zahn, has established application-oriented research at our university and in teaching with a very successful development work in the past years and thus recommended himself as Vice Rector for Research. With Prof. Dr. Beate Schultz-Zehden, we have also succeeded in competently strengthening our university management with a highly esteemed colleague, an expert in health management. Uwe Kaschka, a university lecturer and specialist for innovation and technology transfer, who is predestined for the expansion of academic further education at our university through his professional network and his teaching experience.

bbw Hochschule warmly welcomes all prorectors in their new office and is looking forward to the upcoming cooperation.
