With champagne: The beginning of studies for part-time students at bbw University of Applied Science

2017-09-14

As in previous years, our professionals were the first ones that started their studies at bbw University of Applied Sciences. Their winter semester started on 14th September 2017. At that day, students were solemnly matriculated into a total of four degree courses. They were welcomed with warm speeches and congratulations by the university administration and the Stupa (Student Parliament), and were provided with hints for their studies and a starter package containing useful suitable equipment for their studies.
The new part-time students will accomplish their Bachelor-degree within 8 semesters, attending courses twice a week in the evening and every 14 days on Saturdays, which is certainly more challenging in terms of time comparing to full-time students. This winter semester, again two engineering science courses for part-time students were opened that offer convenient learning conditions due to a relatively small group of students - Mechanical Engineering with Mechatronics and Electrical Engineering. Also economic study programs started - specialized in Real Estate Management and Health Management.

Every year, 25% of all part-time Bachelor students begin their studies without having acquired an upper secondary educational qualification according to §11, but completed a suitable professional vocational training and have at least 3 years work experience. The study results of the graduates are comparable to those of full-time students. The drop-out rate in this group of students is rather low (at our university significantly below 5%). Even the study results do not differ from them of full-time students.

Students can enrol at university until the end of the year. Latecomers can contact our student office as soon as possible.
