bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences publishes research report for the years 2018 and 2019

The bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences' research report from the 2018 and 2019 reporting periods presents the results and the current status of research activities with short profiles of completed, already started and newly acquired research projects. In addition, the report summarizes the research activities of the university's professors and students and provides an overview of their research activities, e.g. through cooperation partners from industry, academia and research, as well as the review and advisory board activities of their professors and their own academic events.

The report makes clear that the fib Research Institute could further expand its role as a coordinator of externally funded research projects and has developed into the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences' external funding agency. The current project pipeline shows that six projects with a funding volume of 1.3 million euros were successfully completed in the reporting period, five new projects with a funding volume of 4.6 million euros were approved and a further six project outlines or applications with a funding volume of 5.3 million euros were submitted. The volume of third-party funding for the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences has thus doubled in all three pipeline categories compared to the previous reporting period and amounts to approximately 3.9 million euros for 2018-2019. The use of the third-party funds has enabled, among other things, the further expansion of the research infrastructure at the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Science.

The current research report also shows that the recommendation of the German Science Council from 2015 to establish more research cooperations - both with research-strong universities and with commercial enterprises - has been implemented. The report states that in 2019, the bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences will have cooperated with a total of 19 renowned research institutions throughout Germany and internationally. Cooperation partners were and are 20 national and international universities, from the TU Berlin to the National Research University - University of Economics (Higher School of Economics) in Moscow to the University of Toronto (Canada), as well as 24 business enterprises and associations. During the reporting period, a special focus was also placed on strengthening research in the bbw University's Master's programs. Here, too, a continuous increase in publication activity can be seen. The bbw Hochschule - University of Applied Sciences' publication activity has almost doubled compared to the 2016-2017 reporting period.
