Dual Bachelor degree program in Electrical Engineering soon with new specialization

After extensive professional exchange between all participating companies and the bbw University, the decision was taken on 30 November 2017, to expand the dual engineering Bachelor course in electrical engineering from the coming winter semester 2018/19 by a new specialization direction. To this decision came companies, which since a few years a part of their engineers let trained with this course of study at our university, like the Deutsche Bahn, WSP Infrastructure Engineering GmbH und SIGNON Deutschland GmbH.
In a joint development workshop, therefore, the focus was primarily on the exchange of new professional requirements for graduates, future needs for specialized specialists and possible new or modified study content. The result was the common idea to expand the contents of the now very successful course of study Electrical Engineering and to add to the existing Control and Safety Engineering, a further specialization in the field of Catenary and Railway Power Supply.
The electrical engineering experts of the companies also expressed accordance that the new specialization direction, together with the bbw University, should be ready for study by the next winter semester of 2018.
Until the end of December 2017 is planned the specific technical implementation of the project, i.a. by the experts of the Deutsche Bahn, WSP Infrastructure Engineering GmbH and SIGNONDeutschland GmbH, the professors and course of study developers of the bbw University of Applied Sciences, for the preparation of the confirmation by the Berlin Senate Chancellery.

From the beginning of 2018, should be won the first suitable study applicants for the joint dual study course for the Bachelor of Engineering Electrical Engineering with the specialization of Catenary and Railway Power Supply.
