Prof. Dr. Irina Slot has been Professor of Industrial Engineering at bbw University since July 2022 and has headed the Industrial Engineering subject group since 2025. The engineering economist, who holds a doctorate from TU Berlin, brings many years of experience from international projects in the energy industry, including at Wintershall (BASF Group).

- Since 2010: Consultant and trainer for intercultural competence in practice
- 2002–2017: Project manager for international projects, especially maritime logistics and LNG at Wintershall (BASF Group); sole representative of the company in the GALSI project
- 1999–2002: Sales manager for technical services, energy sector, Wintershall (BASF Group)
- 1997–1999: Project management for energy applications for industrial customers across various sectors and sales manager at FSG Salzgitter
