Electrical Engineering – Railway Control and Safety Technology
Railway engineering, signalling technology, safety systems. A dual programme with partners such as Deutsche Bahn and Nextrail.
Programme at a glance
Please note: this degree programme is taught in German. This page describes the programme in English for your orientation.
What is it about?
Help shape the future of modern mobility and intelligent railway infrastructure. In our dual degree programme „Electrical Engineering – Railway Control and Safety Technology“ you combine engineering and electrical expertise with hands-on experience in railway systems.
You learn how complex control, signalling and communication systems in rail traffic work and how they are planned, developed and operated reliably. In doing so you help keep rail transport safe, efficient and fit for the future.
With the Bachelor of Engineering you qualify for responsible tasks in the planning, development and operation of control and safety systems in the railway and infrastructure sector.
Focus areas & modules
- Electrical engineering fundamentals
- Mathematics & physics
- Core modules in business & law
- Control & signalling technology
- Specialisation: railway control & safety technology
- Communication & safety systems in rail transport
As with the other dual railway programmes, a four-semester foundation phase is followed by a subject-specific specialisation phase. Partner companies include Deutsche Bahn, Siemens Mobility and specialised planning offices.
We are happy to send you the full module handbook on request.
Career & prospects
Graduates take on planning, development and operational tasks around control and safety systems in the railway and infrastructure sector – at railway operators, in the rail technology industry and at planning offices.
Admission requirements
You need a higher education entrance qualification (Abitur or Fachhochschulreife) or a relevant professional qualification as well as a practice contract with a partner company. You enrol at bbw Hochschule in parallel.
Fees
36 instalments of EUR 490.00
