What is it about?

Help shape the future of modern mobility. In our dual degree programme „Railway Power Supply and Overhead Contact Lines“ you combine electrical and engineering expertise with hands-on experience in railway infrastructure.

You learn how electrical energy for rail traffic is planned, distributed and reliably supplied, and how contact line and power systems work and are developed further within the complex rail network.

With the Bachelor of Engineering you qualify for responsible tasks in the planning, construction and operation of railway power and contact line systems – working on a key piece of future infrastructure.

Focus areas & modules

  • Electrical engineering fundamentals
  • Mathematics & physics
  • Core modules in business & law
  • Power supply & energy technology
  • Specialisation: railway power supply & overhead contact lines
  • Planning of track-bound transport systems

The programme consists of a four-semester foundation phase in electrical engineering followed by a rail-specific specialisation phase. All modules carry ECTS credits; the programme concludes with a Bachelor’s thesis written in cooperation with your company.

We are happy to send you the full module handbook on request.

Career & prospects

Graduates plan, develop and operate the electrical power supply of track-bound transport systems – for example at railway operators, rail technology companies and specialised planning offices.

Admission requirements

You need a higher education entrance qualification (Abitur or Fachhochschulreife) or a relevant professional qualification as well as a practice contract with a partner company. You enrol at bbw Hochschule in parallel.

Fees

36 instalments of EUR 490.00
