Our lecturer Elfi Herrmann has created a unique international project. In an online event, Ms Herrmann combined the international courses "Technical English" and "Technical German" and let the students work together on a case study on the topic of "Business Strategy". Since different cultures and countries often meet in professional life and barriers in language and communication regularly become apparent, the focus of the project was on (inter)corporate management.
Collaboration in an international team and the exchange of experiences were among the aims of the project. The participants were to free themselves from the thought of whether the (foreign) language was grammatically correct or incorrectly used. The language should serve the purpose of communication and understanding. The project was very well received by the students:
"I highly recommend continuing such projects in future classes, since they offer an excellent preparation for all the challenges which may occur when working with people from different nations."
