2nd HLaN Match-Making in the Health Innovation Space

The staff of the Health Reality Lab Network (HLaN) project at the fib Research Institute organized with support from the UVB, the 2nd individual match-making event at the Health Innovation Space (HIS) on October 1, 2019.

There were six start-up pitches and a round table discussion with 20 established companies from the region on the subject of company health management. With over 40 participants, this format was very well received and now forms the prelude to further topic-related matching events between innovative start-ups and established employers in the region. Alexander Schirp, managing director of the UVB, opened the event as a new format in the series of networking offers of the business associations Berlin-Brandenburg. Professor Zahn, informed as project manager of HLaN about the project goals and the three HLaN service offers Smart Support (Matching), Smart Evaluation (studies) and Smart Connect (technical network) as well as as director of the fib of research institute about the offers of the fib and the new initiatives bbw founder center PUSH and DSI - Data Science of institutes @bbw.

In short pitches of the startups it was possible in the first hour "to see the topic BGM from a new perspective - and to get to know interesting approaches to the use of digital solutions" said the representative of a large mechanical engineering company in the subsequent round table discussion. Especially valuable from the point of view of all participants was the moderated discussion round in the second hour, in which the companies asked critical questions in the relaxed atmosphere of the HIS and the start-ups were able to answer them with concrete examples and information about their products and solutions. Thus, under the moderation of Dr. Gerhard Westermayer from the Federal Association BGM, a lively discussion developed, which many participants continued far beyond the official end and also got into conversation with each other. The result of this event was 46 matches with interest in bilateral contacts to start-ups and seven expressions of interest for participation in the HLaN network. This great result confirms the HLaN approach - only people make digitization possible - and motivates to continue the quarterly events in January 2020.
