Electrical Engineering

Specialization: Electronics

Engineers have glittering prospects on the job market. As demonstrated in a survey by the Cologne Institute for Economic Research (IW) for the Association of German Engineers (VDI), one in four technology companies expects an increased demand for engineers in the next years. Many even fear that there will be a shortage of new engineers.

The German electronics industry employs almost 830,000 workers in 18 sectors. That makes it the second-largest industry in the country. The future of the industry lies in developing high-tech systems. To do so, it also requires well-trained engineers, for example with a certified degree in electrical engineering. The primary employment sectors for electrical engineers are the energy sector and the medical sector. Long term economic growth is expected in both these sectors. Large amounts of research funding flows into the medical sector, it is dependent on both the further development of its' existing technology, as well as the development of new technologies. With its internationally recognized Bachelor of Engineering degree, bbw University of Applied Sciences offers graduates the opportunity to quickly combine established theoretical knowledge with vocational and practical experience and qualifies graduates to assume challenging jobs
. In only six semesters (full time) or eight semesters (part time), students are enabled to take the exam to qualify as an electrical engineer. Businesses promote their young academic employees by sponsoring a part time course in the scope of human resources development.

Please be aware that this course is only offerd in german language!
