Admission Requirements

Who can study at the bbw University of Applied Sciences?

Accounting for transferability and permeability is a stated goal of the bbw University of Applied Sciences.

On the basis of the Berlin Higher Education Act, the institution is also open to prospective students without A levels or higher education entry qualification.

The following basic requirements apply to qualify for a course at the bbw University of Applied Sciences:

  • A completed vocational qualification suitable for the course and at least three years professional experience OR

  • Certified master craftsman, state-certified technician, state certified business manager OR

  • A levels or an advanced technical college entrance qualification.

Skills and knowledge acquired outside university education can replace up to 50% of studies at the University of Applied Sciences if:

  • They are comparable with the contents and difficulty of the course,

  • the qualitative/content-based criteria for replacement of study are fulfilled, and have been verified in the scope of accrediting

The basis for ability assessment is the Qualification Framework for German Graduate Degrees of the Conference of Education Ministers (KMK) of 21 April 2005.

Credits from up to three semesters may be acknowledged for full-time courses, or up to four semesters for part-time courses.
